Our School Values

The St Crispin’s School motto of ‘Excellence for All’ means a true sense of belonging for all members of our community and sits at the heart of everything we do. We want every student, parent and staff member to feel valued for who they are as individuals and the part they play in our school.

We want to students to achieve the very best possible academic outcomes, but more than that, we want them to become well-rounded individuals, ready for the world ahead of them. To support them on this journey we focus on four core values. We want all of our students to be Inquisitive, Aspirational, Respectful and Resilient.

These values shape how our pupils approach their learning and how they grow as individuals. Encouraging inquisitiveness means helping young people develop curiosity, ask thoughtful questions and explore ideas with confidence. When pupils learn to wonder, investigate and challenge themselves intellectually, they build strong foundations for lifelong learning.

Aspiration then builds on this by motivating pupils to set ambitious goals for themselves—academically, personally and socially—and to see their potential not as something fixed, but something they can grow through effort and determination.

Equally important are the values of respect and resilience, which guide how pupils interact with others and navigate challenges. Being respectful helps pupils appreciate the perspectives, backgrounds and feelings of others, creating a positive, inclusive school culture where everyone feels valued. Resilience, meanwhile, empowers pupils to persevere when faced with difficulties, learn from mistakes and develop the confidence to keep going even when things feel tough. Together, these four values not only support academic success but also nurture the character, confidence and compassion our pupils need to thrive in school and beyond.
