Have mixed feelings about my time at St. crispins. Remember Mr. Bancroft and Mr.Williams fondly. Maybe they were nicer to the girls. Mrs. Andrews enjoyed torturing us with all her rules about straight ties and berets, no nail polish or nylons.etc. Anyone remember the 'glue pot' and who's turn it was to pick up the heart or lungs or whatever from the local butchers on the way to biology/science class? Did not enjoy the publically humiliating caneings probably a major contributor to my becoming a pacifist. I lived in Barkham opposite Arborfield REME camp. My best friends were, Margaret Harvey, Christine Evans, Gillian ? and Rhoda ? I'm a retired teacher with 4 grand children. |
